FADE IN:

INT. POLICE STATION. A SMALL TOWN IN ITALY - DAY

A POLICEMAN on his coffee break observes a WOMAN enter a beauty salon across the street; follows her with loving eyes as she makes her way to the telephone.

INTERCUT BETWEEN THE POLICEMAN'S AND WOMAN'S CONVERSATION:

GABRIELLA
Hello, my love.

MICHAEL
Hello, Sunshine.

GABRIELLA
You forgot your wallet.

MICHAEL
I was expecting your call.

GABRIELLA
What?

MICHAEL
I swear...I've been waiting for an hour. Ask Joe.

GABRIELLA
(laughing)
Okay, stop fooling around. When can you pick it up?

MICHAEL
I'm busy now. I'm having my coffee.

Gabriella peers through the blinds of the beauty salon.

MICHAEL
She's at the window, looking at me without seeing me.
(leaning his chin in his hand)
She parks in forbidden places...to tease the policeman who admires her instead of fining her.

Gabriella LAUGHS as she releases the blinds.

MICHAEL
You find it funny? How I torture over my love for you?

GABRIELLA
Okay, ciao.

She hangs up the telephone, takes one last glance out through the blinds, and walks away.

MICHAEL
(sighs)
Ciao bella! Until my next coffee break.

Let's erase the boundaries of time and cast Marcello Mastroianni at the policeman. Penelope Cruz would be Gabriella if only she could act just a bit better!

I love your blog! Your comments on my blog are so sweet. I'm Italian, so I really liked this one. I know what you mean about two blogs. I gave my other up.

Thank you. It is my cousin that died. Did you ever work at Valley View Rehab in the Catskills? I worked with someone there that had the same first name and looked like you?

That was an `arresting' conversation.
